Mayor Mike Kasperzak: City of Mountain View, CaliforniaMike Kasperzak: Championing Sustainable Solutions Mike Kasperzak served on the Mountain View City Council for eight years, served as Mayor in 2003 and was re-elected to a new four year term in 2008. He is currently serving his second term as Mayor. During his public service career, Mike has served on the Bay Area Water Supply & Conservation Agency Board, the Santa Clara County Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission and various committees of the Valley Transportation Authority and the Santa Clara Valley Water District. He is currently serving as President of the League of California Cities, the first from the Peninsula Division in almost 25 years. He has also served as Chair of the League’s Revenue & Tax Committee and served a term on both the League’s Board of Directors and the Board of the ILG. He was also Chair of the FAIR Steering Committee and Chaired the Health Care Task Force of the National League of Cities. Professionally, he is a commercial mediator with Silicon Valley Mediation Group, a member of the Advisory Board of Nextdoor.com, a San Francisco based neighborhood social networking startup and he practiced law for 11 years. Prior to his election to the City Council, he served on both the Planning and Parks and Recreation Commissions. Actively involved in the community, he has Chaired the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; the local chapter of the American Red Cross where he also serves as a national management volunteer at Red Cross Headquarters; and has served on the Board of the Community School of Music and Arts, Avenidas, the Santa Clara County Bar Association and Lewis and Clark College. |
