Environment
Sustainable Society recognizes that sustainability is essentially the capacity to endure. Sustainability involves long-term maintenance and a level of responsibility that has economic and social dimensions as well as a positive impact on the environment.
Healthy ecosystems and environments provide the occupants of this planet with vital resources and ecosystem services.
Maintaining a healthy environment involves two systematic approaches:
1) Environmental Management - Environmental management involves a level of activity that is focused on the goal of maintaining and improving the state of environmental resources. Environmental management efforts seek to manage the impact and interaction of mankind on the environment.
2) Consumption Management - Consumption management efforts involve monitoring the active consumption of specific resources. For instance, many companies are involved in reducing energy consumption by using alternative energy sources,
such as the sun.
Environmental concerns interface with economics through the consequences of trade and economic activities. Sustainable Society is working hard to facilitate the move to sustainability by embracing communication and education as the means to combat the social challenges that potentially impede the process of responsible environmental stewardship.
Education is the Key to a Healthy Environment
Education and training on the practical development of international and national laws and policies, urban planning, transportation issues, and ethical consumerism are ways that our organization can assist everyone in affecting positive change. The video trainings presented by Sustainable Society will address these ever-changing needs and concerns by incorporating the ideas and processes developed by successful leaders and organizations around the world. Together, we can make the world a better place.
