Javier Soltero: CTO of SasS and Mobile Applications, VMwareJavier Soltero: Innovator in Sustainable Solutions Javier Soltero is the CTO of SaaS and Mobile Applications at VMware, responsible for driving advanced development and strategy for application-level cloud and mobile services. Prior to joining VMware, Javier was the co-founder and CEO of Hyperic, the leader in large scale web infrastructure management, which SpringSource acquired in May 2009. Prior to co-founding Hyperic, Javier held Chief Architect and senior engineering positions at several enterprise software and consumer internet companies. Javier has an enduring passion to build technologies that make IT more efficient. He helped design and develop a number of innovative infrastructure and management technologies, from early internet messaging, application server, and e-commerce technologies at Netscape to the management platform that became Hyperic. Javier is also actively involved in open source communities, having been both a user and early contributor to JBoss and Apache Tomcat. He is also an active advisor to a several open source and SaaS startups. Javier holds a BS in Information Systems and Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and is a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico. |
